CELEX SOJOURN · 2026
A seven-day immersion for the world's leading wedding planners
Register your interestThe journey to A La Mexicana has begun.
Mexico is one of the most recognised wedding destinations in the world. It is also one of the most misread. A La Mexicana is the CELEX Sojourn for October 2026: a seven-day journey from Playa Mujeres to Isla Mujeres, down to Tulum and back to Cancún, built for planners who are ready to see past the familiar.
Limited to ten attendees. Seven days of walking through the country's leading wedding venues, meeting the local vendors who rarely reach an international audience, and building the relationships that make a destination workable. Small enough that every introduction is a real one.
Planners leave knowing how to place a wedding here in a way that their clients will not have seen before.
Positioned directly on the water with a clear view of the Caribbean, Kempinski Hotel Cancún anchors the opening nights of the journey. The property sets the tone for what the week is — considered, unhurried, and built for a different kind of guest.

Playa Mujeres · SLS Playa Mujeres
Met at the airport and driven north by private car, with a cold drink waiting on the back seat.
A pause on the way up the coast as the group gathers through the afternoon.
Rooms already styled and waiting, with a welcome note.
A proper Mexican welcome — green coconuts opened by hand in the shade, the first taste of the trip.
Welcome dinner and the first table of the week — the first sense of the group.
Isla Mujeres · SLS Playa Mujeres
Slow, oceanside, unhurried.
Down to the terminal and out across the channel.
Caught that morning, eaten with your feet in the sand.
Ruins, market and cliffs — the temple at the southern point, the artisan stalls, and the cliff edge where the sea turns open.
Golden hour on the water on the way home.
Open sky, salt and rope, the sun going down behind you. The brightest night of the week.
SLS → Tulum · Casa Malca
A last morning in Playa Mujeres.
Leave bags at the door — everything is handled for you.
Three hours on the road, the coastline changing from resort to jungle through the window.
A stop on the way south — a table by the water, and a look at what the town does well.
Pablo Escobar’s former beach house, now one of the most photographed hotels in Mexico. Your room is ready, and so is a gift.
The group in conversation as the light goes — what works here, and what does not.
Dinner under the canopy, the art still watching, and no one in a hurry to leave.
Tulum · Casa Malca · Kima Tulum
On the sand at Casa Malca.
Every wedding and event space, seen the way a planner needs to see it — with a real couple’s brief in hand.
Twenty-five minutes off the coast, into the jungle.
Hands in the masa. Ginger Tulum’s chef takes you through the dishes you have been eating all week.
Golden hour, canapés, the Kima bar in full swing.
Dinner in the open air. The cenote as the entrance — dark, enclosed, lit from below.
Out of the jungle, back to the coast.
Tulum → Cancún · Kempinski
A last morning in Tulum.
Two hours back up the coast.
On the road, or waiting for you on arrival.
The final address of the week, and the grandest.
Cars waiting at the door, into Cancún for dinner.
Dinner off property, Cancún beyond the resort.
Cancún · Kempinski
An hour and a half with the Kempinski team and their in-house suppliers — the people you would actually be booking.
Ceremony and reception spaces, walked properly and without a queue. Time to shoot, measure, and ask the awkward questions.
Out of the Hotel Zone and into the city, at a table the locals keep to themselves.
A team on hand in your room before the final night.
Farewell dinner on the South Pool Terrace as the sun goes down. The masks finally come off, and the live 360 video booth runs through the evening — step in between courses and the camera circles you.
The week played back, and a closing word from each of you.
Cancún → Airport
Take your time.
A last hour at the table, moving between conversations — the introductions that outlast the trip.
Private transfers timed to your flight.
Places are strictly limited to 12 wedding professionals. To express interest or learn more, reach out to the CELEX team directly.
