Fairmont Taghazout Bay, Morocco

Where the Atlantic holds its breath.

Fairmont Taghazout Bay occupies a different Morocco entirely. Set along the Atlantic coastline near Agadir, in the coastal village of Taghazout, this five-star resort trades the labyrinthine intensity of Marrakesh for something quieter; ocean light, Berber-influenced architecture, and the particular stillness of a shore that faces west. It is a venue that doesn’t perform luxury. It simply lives in it.

The Property Itself Has a Rhythm

Founder, Amanda Costa Thompson Studio

What sets this resort apart is its refusal to contain a wedding within a single space. Ceremonies move from ocean-facing gardens and the Olive Garden to a grand ballroom with Atlantic views; evenings shift from beach club to poolside; mornings unfold over post-wedding brunches as guests drift toward the hammam or the water. Up to 500 guests can be accommodated across these settings, yet nothing feels scaled for scale’s sake.

The resort’s spa, hammam, yoga spaces, and direct beach access aren’t incidental amenities; they’re woven into how multi-day celebrations are built here. Welcome dinners, sunset ceremonies, beachside barbecues, and after-parties each find a natural home within the property. Fairmont Taghazout Bay regularly hosts international weddings across Indian, Pakistani, Jewish, and European traditions

From the editor

Taghazout is unlike anywhere else we could offer couples coming to Morocco for their celebrations. The coast gives you golden light at every hour, and the resort gives you room to breathe: space for a welcome dinner by the olive trees, a ceremony where the lawn meets the Atlantic, a morning-after where no one wants to leave. We’ve hosted guests from across the world here, and the conversations always end the same way: when can we come back?
